Her formative years spent in the tight knit community of Khartoum, where the enigmatic dance of politics, legacy, and family played out behind closed doors became the seed from which her ideas emerged. Growing up in a nation where power often manifested as a nexus of greed and ego, she keenly observed how the strings of those in power were manipulated.

The societal pressures, and in many situations dangers, of being a young woman in Sudan, duplicity became a form of power and control. A common theme in her stories; characters often find that their need for power snowballs into greed, how much is ever enough?

Azza’s works revolve around stories that center on strong willed, ambitiously driven characters going to great lengths to achieve their desires. Themes of  politics, legacy, dynasty, family and deception are  constantly challenged and explored. Her writing both fiction and non fiction dissect the broader geopolitical frameworks through the creation of worlds, characters, analysis that are trying to bridge the gap between East and West.

Having graduated from the prestigious University of Southern California, where she graduated with top honors, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and New Media from the esteemed Peter Stark Producing Program. Upon graduating, Malik worked under renowned giants like HBO, the creative powerhouse behind hits like Game of Thrones and The Last of Us, as well as Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine, celebrated for their dedication to female-centric narratives such as The Morning Show and Little Fires Everywhere. Most recently, she worked with the tech conglomerate Amazon, known for its remarkable success in productions like Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and Michael B. Jordan’s Without Remorse.

With an impressive track record of over 500 hours dedicated to script and story coverage and analysis, Malik possesses an exceptional proficiency in evaluating material, offering a unique perspective from both a buyer's standpoint and a critical, creative viewpoint.

Throughout her career, Malik gained invaluable experience by providing essential support to respected agents turned talent managers in their entrepreneurial endeavors, initially within a home-based, start-up setting before transitioning to more formal office environments. Her role encompassed a wide range of responsibilities, including creative, business, and administrative duties. Subsequently, she transitioned to supporting showrunners in the development of their extensive project slates, overseeing numerous endeavors from pre-production to a writer’s room. In these capacities, Malik worked closely with executive producers and writers at all levels, contributing in both creative and business endeavors.
